Prof. Tamás Mészáros is a rector emeritus of Corvinus University of Budapest. He is a professor of Strategic management in the Corvinus Business School, the Department of Strategy and Project Management. He graduated in 1970 from Karl Marx University of Economic Science which was the predecessor Institute of Corvinus University. In the last nearly half century Professor Mészáros occupied different management positions at the University. He was department chair, dean and rector (2004-2011) of the University. He obtained his PhD in 1983.
He has participated in different study program abroad, for example the Advanced Management Program at Wharton School University Pennsylvania, and the Central and Eastern European Teachers Program at Harvard Business School.
He is a Doctor Honoris Causa of Miskolc University, Kaposvár University, Babes Bolyai University of Cluj Napoca, Romania, and Baku Eurasian University, Azerbaijan.
In the last three decades he was a member of the board and member of the supervisory board of different Hungarian Companies, including Richter Gedeon Pharmaeutical Companie, Hungarian Foreign Bank, Masped Forwarding Companie. Between 2002 and 2006 he acted as a chairman of the Board of Directors of Hungarian Privatisation and Stateholding Company.
